What is Gorilla Habituation?
Gorilla habituation is the gradual process of helping wild mountain gorillas become comfortable with the presence of humans. This conservation effort takes approximately 2 to 3 years, during which researchers and trackers spend time with a selected gorilla family every day.
Unlike the standard gorilla trekking permit, which allows visitors to spend only one hour with a fully habituated gorilla family, the Gorilla Habituation Experience offers an exclusive opportunity to spend up to four hours observing these magnificent primates while learning directly from the experts involved in their conservation.
This rare experience provides a deeper understanding of mountain gorilla behavior, family dynamics, and the ongoing efforts to protect one of the world's most endangered species.
